Favorite City: “I sometimes miss Delhi because there was a certain time I spent there, careless and carefree, with friends. It was my first city away from home.”

SAFFRON MILES
A London-based journalist whose writing moves between cities, cultural undercurrents, and quiet observation, tracing the moods and margins of contemporary life. In this issue, she met filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr. and curates the London pages, mapping the city through fashion, food, bars and lived experiences. Favorite city: “Nottingham for its quiet resistance to spectacle, its working-class memory, and the way it allows stories to exist without asking to be seen.”

FINN GIBSON
A London-based photographer whose work moves fluidly between fashion and portraiture, defined by a soft use of natural light, intimate framing and a sensitivity to mood and presence. For CITY, he photographs the young actress Eva Yelmani, capturing her with a sense of closeness and understated intensity. Favorite city: “Athens is my favorite city. The light is exquisite and the energy is spot on.”

SIMON JOHANNIN
A French writer living in Marseille, known for a raw yet poetic voice. He is the author of L’Été des charognes, a cult novel that established him as one of the most singular voices of his generation. For this issue, he contributes an original text written from and about his city, attentive to its rhythms and fractures. Favorite city: “Istanbul, for the Bosphorus, its music and its lights.”

DREW JARRETT
A New York–based fashion photographer whose work channels urban energy through sharp compositions and a direct, contemporary gaze. Here, he photographs a fashion series celebrating Spring/Summer 2026, elevating the season’s silhouettes through light, movement and attitude, embodied by Taylor Hill. Favorite city: “I have so many favorite cities in the world, but I would say NYC has been my favorite for many years. The diversity, the strength, the energy.”

CELIA AZOULAY
A fashion stylist based in New York, she works across fashion and editorial projects, shaping precise silhouettes and visual narratives grounded in attitude and restraint. Here, she signs the styling of the fashion series shot by Drew Jarrett, bringing a sharp vision to the Spring/Summer 2026 season. Favorite city: “Tel Aviv, because it is a seaside city where life unfolds outdoors year-round. Everything feels perpetually open, with an exceptional nightlife and a food scene that is both vibrant and inventive.”

SIR PAUL SMITH
British fashion designer known for building one of the most successful independent brands. My favorite city: “I’ve always loved cities. But over the past twenty years or so, they’ve changed beyond recognition. Of course, London will always have a place in my heart. But today, there are too many cars, too many delivery vans, too much noise. That’s why the photograph I shared shows a town, but with a glimpse of countryside. A trace of calm in the chaos.”

MORGAN OTAGBURUAGU
Nigerian photographer (based in Lagos) whose experimental work spans fashion, portraiture, beauty, still life, and videography. My favorite city: “Growing up in Lagos has made me tougher. It is my favorite city due to its vibrant nature and also its hustling spirit. We call it New York of Africa.

HANAYO
Japanese artist, former geisha and model turned pioneering photographer, musician, and performer, known for photobooks like Hanayome (1996), or Hanayo’s Underworld: Half a Century (2021), with exhibitions at Palais de Tokyo, Taka Ishii Gallery, and Documenta X . My favorite city: “I can’t specify, but a place with hot springs and forests.”

LAURENCE BENHAIM
French journalist and biographer, whose major works include Yves Saint‑Laurent: Biographie (1993); Marie‑Laure de Noailles (2001); Jean‑Michel Frank (2017); and acclaimed titles on Dior and Guerlain. My favorite city: “The one I’ve never known, where I could lose myself, only to find myself anew, with a coffee and a page waiting to be written.”

ANDY AMADI OKOROAFOR
Nigerian-born, Paris-based filmmaker, art director, TED Fellow, and founder of Clam Studio and Clam Magazine, best known for his 2010 debut feature film Relentless. My favorite city: “Enugu, in Igboland, Nigeria, because it’s Africa’s emerging creative hub. Writers like Chimamanda or artists like El Anatsui are part of the Enugu system. This is a youth driven tech hub, with a clean and healthy environment.”

KAI NAITO
Japanese photographer and editor, born in 1995 and based in Tokyo. His clients include Adidas, Beams, Nylon, Uniqlo, Converse or Birkenstock… My favorite city: “Hokkaido, because this is the town where I grew up.”
